1.4 Gas Monitoring Gas evolution data was collected using a UGA 200 from SRS Systems, with a lower detection limit for Cl2 of 500 ppm (1% Cl2 = 10,000 ppm). The UGA was connected to the posolyte vial by PFA capillary tubing with 1 mm inner diameter that joined to a 175 μm inner diameter PEEK capillary to the instrument. Partial pressures at m/z values of 70 were used as Cl2. This partial pressure was converted to percent of the mixture using a conversion factor determined by calibration to source gas of different known concentrations. Percent gas in the UGA was taken as the percent of Cl2 in the head space of the vial holding the posolyte. 19
