CONCLUSIONS In December, 1976, several cycles consistently achieved electrochemical energy effi ciencies of 64% at a delivered energy of 19kWh. These results have not been repro duced in any of the subsequent cycles during Phase I. The major difficulties found were dendrites and cell imbalance. The stack rebuild program eliminated many of the causes of the dendrites, and has made inroads for the determination of the cell imbalance. Although parasitic currents and electrolyte flow distribution to the cells would seem the logical cause of cell imbalance, it now seems that the perfor mance of the chlorine electrodes must also be considered.
